Materials of Exterior Paint

Exterior paint is the kind of paint which is most suitable to be applied on the outside walls. That is why professional painters used this paint on their exterior painting services, such as the exterior painting woodstock.

The same with other paints, the exterior paint has four kinds of materials, including solvents, resins, active substances, and pigments. Here are the explanations:

– Solvents are usually water or mineral liquids. The solvent function is to dilute and dissolve the components of the paint composer. Low-quality paints usually use more solvents. Other solvent properties are able to evaporate so the paint dries, leaving behind resins, additives, and pigments on the walls.
– Resin acts as a pigment binder (color) to adhere to the wall. The material of this resin is acrylic, epoxy, or silicone.
– Additives are an additional chemical to protect property with paint media. Some additives also serve to prevent mold and make the paint does not quickly fade. In addition, this additive is also able to make the paint surface can be cleaned and supports the painting process for easier.
– Pigments are added to give color to the paint. The shape of this pigment is powder and insoluble. The color pigment will stick to the wall because of the resin in the paint.
